Neot Nordia

General Description: A communal neighborhood of around 270 housing units, adjacent to the communal settlement “Nordia” located at the Sharon region in Israel. Neot Nordia is one of the first communal neighborhoods ever to be built adjacent to an existing communal settlement, and a part of which. The neighborhood was designed in a rural architectural language, blending in the existing settlement, for the purpose of maintaining as small as possible a difference between the old and new neighborhoods. This was done while maintaining a modern architectural language and allowing the development of a large green area enveloping the two neighborhoods.
Today, the settlement looks totally homogenous, with consistent design (despite the difference between the old and new residents), and is considered as one of the most successful projects in the region.
The project was done in stages, whereas at the first stage the construction was done by a group of 50 families under our Office’s management, with later stages done by a corporation which further developed the area and built more housing units, using the same templates, for additional joining families.
